Process Safety Engineer (Finance)



As a Process Safety Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of our operations across multiple facilities in the Chicago region, including the Des Plaines Campus, R&D, and the Riverside and McCook facilities. Your expertise in process safety will be crucial in identifying potential hazards and implementing effective safety measures to protect our employees and assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead / participate in hazard reviews and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews of lab, pilot plant and manufacturing activities
  • Review changes to lab, pilot plant and manufacturing activities for impact on process safety
  • Conduct / participate in audits of process safety activities, including annual Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) and RC 14001 Audits; develop / implement action plans to address audit findings when needed
  • Lead / participate in investigations of process-related incidents
  • Conduct training on process safety related topics; develop / update training materials as needed
  • Generate periodic reports on the status of various process safety-related activities; follow-up with management to help assure timely completion of activities
  • Work with Pilot Plant Engineering Design and Construction group to help develop engineering design standards related to process safety systems
  • Participate in Honeywell Operating System (HOS) activities
  • Work with other members of the Chicago area HSE Team to help share best practices across sites

The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.

The annual base salary range for this position is $ 73,400 - 91,700. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.As an HSE Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will foster a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, ensuring compliance and promoting sustainability.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • 3+ years experience in process engineering, project engineering or operations in chemical or petrochemical processing, refining, or R&D
  • Ability to travel between Chicagoland sites
