Buyer / Planner (Finance)



Summary:

As a Supply Chain Buyer/Planner and member of Neotech, you will be responsible for Demand Management of Finished Goods, including managing delivery schedules with production plans and long-term replenishment planning balancing customer requirements and company inventory management policies & guidelines. In this role, you will be heavily engaged with Sales, other customer facing teams, and frequently customers, while working closely with the suppliers to meet customer requirements. This position will manage and communicate forecast, delivery commitments and changes through customer interface directly with the program managers and production staff. The Supply Chain Buyer/Planner is responsible for tracking all material alignment statuses in support of the customer backlog, forecast and delivery commitments. They will work hand in hand with the supporting groups to execute commitments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Planning and Purchasing activities for Demand Management of Finished Goods inventory management and replenishment planning balancing customer requirements and company inventory management policies & guidelines
  • Lead or participate in department & cross functional process improvement projects.
  • Issue purchase orders, manage open purchase order backlog, and follow up on materials as needed.
  • Day to day management of supplier deliveries for Production and non-Production goods and services, including parts expediting and tracking, pricing discrepancies and material on time delivery.
  • Manage day-to-day supply and demand decisions for specific customer or group of customers.
  • Create and maintain reports using MRP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Maintain system-planning parameters: Quotes, lead times, lot sizes, planning notes, etc.
  • Cross-functional communications with other teams (including Finance, QA, Engineering, Operations, etc) to maintain a sufficient supply of raw materials and hardware to support manufacturing schedule requirements.
  • Manages delivery schedule and production plans to ensure Finished Goods material availability per Demand Management requirements are met.
  • Report ongoing delivery status to program management.
  • Manage backlog and ensure ERP/MRP system data integrity, reporting issues and variances to management and program managers.
  • Participate in the ECO/DCO Implementation thru MRP for open manufacturing orders (WIP).
  • Maintain weekly visibility on part shortages.
  • Support of Data Integrity in visual and shop floor Audits.
  • Maintain WIP accuracy of visual aid boards and Excel spreadsheet.
  • Locate and report on critical customer material status.
  • Meet with production personnel to coordinate the production priority and schedule.
  • Train and perform Quality Management Systems cross-functional internal audits.
  • Assist management by preparing for and/or representing departmental/function audits, examples including ISO recertification, Accounting audits and Customer audits
  • Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
  • Perform all other duties, as required.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Good computer skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit.
  • Excellent analytical skills utilizing various tool sets.
  • Strong ability to think independently, and exercise good judgment in the completion of assigned tasks.
  • High proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Preferred)
  • Combined Planning and/or Purchasing experience.
  • Experience leading cross functional meetings and project teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, presentation skills, and ability to influence others.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing Experience is a plus.
  • APICS Certification is a Plus.
  • Experience with Epicor is a plus.
  • Experience with Aegis Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a plus.
