Position Summary Accurately and safely delivers building/lumber products to job sites while assisting the truck driver. In addition to securing and organizing loads. Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist truck driver in navigating and communicating with customers and dispatch using company issued mobile devices (GPS units and phones).Load/stock or pickup (returns/credits) building material on residential and commercial job sites by manually or using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. straps, dolly)Assist driver attach/detach from demountable truck boxesUse Company issued smartphone to communicate information to the dispatch office.Read and understand delivery tickets and product identification.May be required to load and unload truck at different Millard Lumber locations.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned. Education/Experience High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required. Minimum of 1-year in transportation & logistics, dispatch experience.Nebraska and surrounding state regulations regarding height and weight maximums preferred.Forklift experience, Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) experience a plus Other Requirements Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physicalWork morning/evening hours during the week, required weekendsMaintenance of regular attendance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Verbal & Written Communication skills and map/GPS reading abilitiesAbility to comply to daily changes to deliveries/schedules with a positive attitudeExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsSuperior problem- solving abilities along with a can- do attitudeAbility to work as an individual and as a team to meet delivery goalsWilling to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is perform within jobsite and yard environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dustPerform activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materialsMust be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., grasp, talk, hear, standing/walking for prolonged periodsReaching at or above shoulder level and below waist and have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
