Job Description

Job Title: Production Supervisor Date: September 2025

Reports To: Manufacturing Manager

Summary

American Fan has an opportunity for a Production Supervisor based in our Fairfield, OH facility.

We are seeking a results-driven and hands-on Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations across multiple production areas that could include welding, fabrication, assembly, and paint. This role requires a strong, people-oriented leader with a track record of managing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is committed to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cultivating a culture of safety and accountability. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and be able to develop binding relationships across all functional areas within the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of production employees across departments.
  • Ensure daily manufacturing goals are met for quality, output, and on-time delivery in key functions that could include welding, fabrication, assembly, and paint.
  • Drive a safety-first culture by enforcing the use of PPE, conducting safety talks, and promoting proactive safety practices.
  • Monitor product quality and drive corrective actions when non-conformances are identified.
  • Serve as a clear and consistent communicator between teams, leadership, and support functions (engineering, maintenance, quality).
  • Assist with scheduling, labor planning, and performance management; participate in hiring and training initiatives.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and other departments to resolve production issues and drive process improvements.
  • Track production KPIs and support root cause investigations for downtime, scrap, or rework.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Audit/ Participate 5S in the department.
  • Complete all other duties assigned to you by your manager.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role; background in welding, fabrication, or assembly environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience supervising hourly or skilled trade employees.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, Standard Work, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills; able to foster accountability and teamwork.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing metrics and ability to interpret production data.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems in a manufacturing context is a plus.
  • Experience or awareness of EPA regulations and compliance is helpful but not required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Acceptable proof of this status includes a US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, US birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis.
