Business Analyst, IT (Information Technology)

Position Summary 

The Business Analyst IT will leverage both business knowledge and technical skills to collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and technical resources to implement and support corporate and investment management systems. The individual will drive IT projects and participate in various technology initiatives from conception to post-implementation, including business analysis, quality assurance testing, project management and vendor management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their needs, clearly articulate their requirements, and ensure software solutions align with business goals
  • Engage in complex problem solving and with both business users and IT resources
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and processes, and work with the IT team to implement solutions
  • Become a subject-matter expert for investment management systems and processes, providing guidance to the IT team and business stakeholders as needed
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and other IT team members to ensure software solutions meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget
  • Provide strong leadership, ownership and accountability, and demonstrate solid communication skills when planning projects and driving them to success.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for systems analysis and product management, including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and project management
  • Interface with accounting, portfolio/asset management for day-to-day requests
  • Perform other administrative and technical tasks and projects assigned by the Information Technology leadership
  • Provide exceptional customer support to our users, including good communication, prompt service and quality results for our users to the extent possible
  • Consistently demonstrate use of tact and discretion

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Zero to four (0-4) years of experience in a business setting that emphasizes customer service, process improvement, and solving problems with technology
  • Aptitude for organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple priorities, using critical thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated multimodal    communication   style   that   reaches   every stakeholder, specifically excellent verbal, and written communications
  • Ability to communicate with and manage up to senior management
  • Collaborative working style with inclusive work and thinking behaviors, commitment to excellence in teams and work product, with a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence in high pressure and sensitive situations
  • Tenacity, patience, and perseverance to work with business deals from beginning to end of process
  • Represent the Berkshire employment brand well to candidates by seeking to understand the capabilities and insights of people with unique backgrounds, cultures, styles, and abilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and communications of information
  • Develop productive working relationships with all team members including internal clients and external third parties
  • Demonstrated high level of ethics and integrity with a straightforward and honest approach

Technical/Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, a quantitative major or Economics or Finance
  • Technical aptitude is important – knowledge of SQL, Excel and/or Python is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use new technology (e.g., computers/hardware, mobile, software, cloud-based programs)
  • Proficiency with computers, keyboards, monitors and telephone
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Products (e.g., Word, Outlook, Teams, Power Point)
  • Proficiency in Yardi software products is a plus
