Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Project Management)



We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team!

Where we are located: Our facility is located in Hopkinsville, KY. This area is a great location for commuters and residents of the Nashville, TN and Clarksville, TN areas. Within a 30-45-minute commute are opportunities to live in the heart of a vibrant city or live in a suburb with all the amenities. We also have manufacturing facilities located in Shelbyville, Indiana and Monterrey, Mexico. Our Corporate Headquarters reside in Adrian, Michigan.
What the position entails: Applies appropriate engineering and manufacturing technology to develop/improve existing processes in the area of quality, productivity, and cost reduction for Brazeway and its customers. The engineer serves as a value stream leader, project leader on major plant expenditures, new equipment purchases, and process improvements within the company.
Major Responsibilities:
Applies basic engineering principles and analyses to improve processes or solve manufacturing problems by reducing cost, improving quality, and/or capability.Designs manufacturing processes that meet customer product, delivery, and cost requirements. Designs or manages the design of new machines and tooling. Manages or participates as a key AQP Team Member in the concept to delivery cycle -- Design, analyze, budget, prototypes and samples, purchase and build equipment, machine acceptance, train, implement and improve.Identifies, establishes, and manages development programs that bring new ideas and technologies to practical application in production. This will include working with members of our R & D team as well as with outside organizations.Provides technical support to account managers.May manage liaison activities with Brazeways partners.Prepares engineering and cost analyses for process improvement.Maintains the engineering data base: Bills of materials, Routing and production standards, Drawings and process sheets, ECR/ECNs.Assures plant(s) environment is safe, efficient, and meets all local, state, and/or federal requirements. This includes the job environment and any associated ergonomic factors, and the internal and external plant environment and surrounding properties. Maintain records, and data to prove compliance with all regulations. Complete local. State, and/or federal reports as required.Provides necessary support to plant management and plant teams to assure that proper tools and assistance is available to perform assigned task and maintain engineering files and documents as listed but not limited to: FMEAs, flow diagrams, operator instructions, change over procedures, energy control diagrams and hazard assessments. Supports and manages within the Brazeway Code of Conduct, Core Values, and our Process Based Leadership philosophy.Actively supports and shows personal ownership for the Brazeway Quality Plan and 5S+Safety Program.
What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:
Strong technical skills and ability to interact tactfully with all departments on many levels.A minimum of 5 years of experience working within a manufacturing maintenance environment.Extrusion experience or experience with hydraulic presses and metal forming preferred. Experience leading or supporting new product introduction (NPI).Excellent communication and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)A strong work ethic and a strong commitment to a team environmentResponsible to create, maintain, review and audit various financial transactions in accordance with GAAP. Reconcile assigned accountsAssist with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process. Analyze variances and conduct monthly financial reviews with management. Develop Direct labor and overhead rates for planning purposes and standard comparisons.Assist with quarterly reforecast and annual planningSupport plant locations as needed. Assist in creation and administration of company policies & procedures to ensure adequate internal control and safeguarding of company assets. Travel required; Up to 10% at certain times of the year.Other accounting duties as assigned.Actively supports and manages within Brazeways mission, vision, Code of Conduct and Process Based Leadership guidelines.Actively supports our 5S + Safety programs.
