Position description
The RN in the Operating Room circulates and coordinates the surgical team in all aspects of O.R. activities, providing for optimum perioperative nursing care to patients. Functions as the patients' advocate.
Our state-of-the-art hospital in Jacksonville includes 25 operating rooms that include an IMRI OR suite and a dedicated endovascular OR suite. We use the best modern equipment and advanced technologies to create an environment that merges the art of healing with the science of medicine.
**All associate degree registered nurses with a RN hire/transfer date after December 31, 2012, must complete their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within six (6) years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.**

Qualifications
Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited associate's degree or diploma program. If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is also required. If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, at least one year of RN experience (within the last 5 years) in an applicable care setting is required.
All associate degree or diploma registered nurses hired into the Department of Nursing with a RN start date after April 1, 2020, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalauerate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within 5 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date. Additional qualifications One year RN experience within the last five years preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills. License or certification Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
