Production Supervisor (Engineering)

Schedule: 2nd Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How will you make an impact?

You will lead the Machine Support team to ensure all production equipment is maintained at optimal performance and aligned with production schedules. Through technical leadership and strategic oversight, you will drive equipment uptime, quality standards, and process improvements that contribute to a reliable, efficient, and high-performing manufacturing operation.

What will you do?

  • Direct the daily operations of the Machine Support group, ensuring production schedules are met and quality standards maintained.

  • Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members including Process Engineers, Industrial Techs, WAVE Techs, and Machine Support Technicians.

  • Develop and lead training programs to improve skills, safety, and performance.

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations to drive continuous team improvement.

  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for SMT, Thru-hole, and support equipment.

  • Plan and coordinate line builds, moves, and equipment installations or upgrades.

  • Maintain departmental documentation, including records of repairs, maintenance activities, and compliance audits.

  • Schedule and supervise vendors for machine repairs, updates, and installations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, EHS regulations, and company security procedures.

  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best-in-class practices.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and hands-on technical experience considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in maintenance or machine support management in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven experience leading technical teams in high-paced production settings.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including recruitment, coaching, and succession planning.

  • Deep understanding of SMT and Thru-hole equipment and processes.

  • Skilled in preventative maintenance planning, spare parts management, and equipment lifecycle tracking.

  • Working knowledge of engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, industrial, and chemical) as applied to electronics manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with process optimization tools including SPC, DOE, DFT, DFM, and Demand Flow Technology.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and adapt styles.

  • Results-driven with strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and equipment management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing large technical teams in a high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with Jabil systems and operational models.

  • Experience in vendor negotiation, technical report writing, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification a plus.
