Lead Repair Technician Winter 2025/26 (Manufacturing)



SUMMARY
In conjunction with the Habitat Manager and Supervisor, oversee a full-service rental and repair shop by mounting, repairing and preparing safe operating rental ski and snowboard equipment for internal and external guests. Maintain Habitat's ski and snowboard rental fleet, including repairing equipment, safety testing, and documenting rental equipment for Habitat and Grand Targhee Resort. Provide information to guests about the Mountain and Base Area. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee's job is to get and keep guests. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. Prior repair shop experience is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provides superior service to all customers --this includes guests and Grand Targhee employees.
2. Greets customers, determines their needs and sells services that will meet their needs.
3. In conjunction with the Habitat Manager and Supervisor, motivates, evaluates, and directs rental/tech staff and ensures that all employees receive the training, support, guidance, feedback and resources necessary to service guests consistently.
4. Mount, repair, adjust and test bindings and maintain rental fleet.
5. Tune, repair and prepare skis and snowboards for guests.
6. Ensure our guests' safety by strict attention to detail and properly repair and adjust equipment.
7. Reduce the company's risk of litigation by paying strict attention to detail and proper risk management language thru continued training and certification.
8. Answer questions about ski/snowboard equipment.
9. Accept payment efficiently, with courtesy and diplomacy, entering the appropriate form of payment in the cash register, counting change properly and verifying any credit card transactions.
10. Balance the cash register by counting the cash drawer at both the beginning and end of the work shift, following current policies and procedures.
11. Exceed Repair Shop goals and standards through integrity, teamwork and quality customer service.
12. Flexible working hours requiring at least 30 hours a week. Some job sharing may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:

Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises repair shop staff.

WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. Prior supervisory/foreman experience preferred. Prior rental and repair training experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must of prior repair shop experience preferably with Winterstieger machines.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
