Support Honeywell deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation (product) by designing, testing and validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. A successful candidate will have a broad background in mechanical engineering and computer science, as well as the ability to work closely with electrical, materials, and manufacturing functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical focal responsible for numeric evaluation of product design, integration, test and qualification activities for inertial navigation products for internal R&D and customer funded programs
  • Calibration of inertial sensors and inertial systems
  • Evaluation of sensor & system performance - ex: reading and understanding Root Alan Variance (RAV)
  • Lead trade studies and issue resolution activities
  • Prepare, review, approve, and present technical documentation and deliverables to internal and external customers
  • Function as a technical focal with internal and external customers supporting new product development and communicating technical status
  • Execute in a cross-functional team setting (interfacing with IMU, mechanical, electrical, software, test, etc.)
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and their needs
  • Lead system design team meetings (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs) with internal and external customers
  • Lead customer flow-down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, technical solution development
  • Lead system documents development, including but not limited to system-level requirements, Interface Control Document, Hardware Requirements Specification, Performance Verification Test Plan Procedure, Certification documents
  • Provide technical support and expertise to Customer Business Managers and Technical Sales Director during pursuit of new business to ensure product offerings align with customer requirements
  • Lead proposal effort as a Principal System Engineer/SME, including development of BOEs
  • Perform simulations, data analysis, define test procedures, and review results to determine compliance to requirements

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 15+ years' professional experience
  • 15+ years' experience with inertial instruments (accelerometers, gyroscopes, and/or inertial measurement units)
  • Must be a US Citizen

WE VALUE

  • Masters or PhD
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering
  • Ability to attain a security clearance
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex RCCA
  • Demonstrated experience with test system integration for high precision inertial sensors
  • Demonstrated experience with accelerometer requirements and associated qualification procedures
  • Experience with numerical data analysis, regression and curve fitting
  • Experience with Matlab, Creo, SolidWorks, and/or MathCAD
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions while balancing risk
  • Familiar with Six Sigma Methods, with Black Belt training preferred
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness in an ambiguous environment
  • Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with external (prime) customers
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams thru PDR, CDR, and/or QDR
  • Experience with EVMS
