MED TECH/PART-TIME PERSONAL CARE-FLEXIBLE HOURS/VARIOUS SHIFTS (Finance)
Provides resident care by:
Taking and recording vital signs;Observing and assessing residents daily for changes in conditionInterviewing resident to determine medical problem/condition and documents in chart for physician.Reporting adverse reactions to medications and/or treatments to supervisory nursing personnel as required and when necessaryPassing medications and performing treatments in accordance with each residents prescribed treatment plan and facility policy and procedure. Assisting residents with ADLs when necessaryAssisting with Admission, Transfer, and Discharge assessments and paperwork as neededPerforms all nursing duties as required by adhering to educational training, licensure standards, facility policy and procedure, and Department of Health regulations
Assures residents quality of care and safety needs are adhered to by:
Giving floor staff daily report at the start of each shift and intermittently should a residents needs changeAssisting with and/or creating resident care assignments for CNAs and Floating Charge NurseReading and understanding the residents care plans and care instructionsReviewing CNAs care delivery to assure the Care instructions and Care Plan are being adhered to and that CNAs are providing ADL care according to established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.Assuring floor staff are documenting resident care as required in Caretracker, logs, etc.Performing skin checks after every bath and showerMonitoring care delivery to insure resident abuse , neglect, or misappropriation of resident property, etc does not occurAssuring accuracy when passing medication and performing treatmentsTranscribe physician orders completely and accurately to all places that are requiredCompleting reports as required for falls, bruises, skin tears, missing and/or damaged itemsResponding appropriately to reports of and concerns from staff regarding, resident changes in condition, difficulties in provision of resident care, etc.
Maintains long-term care resident nutrition by:
Examining food trays for prescribed dietInsuring staff are providing meal service with dignity and qualityAssisting with feeding residents when needed Insuring staff are recording food and fluid intake and output as required. Reporting and documenting changes in resident intake or resident weight to appropriate staff immediately
Administers long-term care resident medications and treatments by:
Preparing medications; Administering specified medication orally or by subcutaneous or intramuscular injections according to policy and procedureRecording dosage and time in patient record; maintaining logs. Assists with the destruction of medications as required by policy and procedure and DOH regulations
Supports laboratory testing by:
Collecting samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum as required.
Keeps patient care supplies ready by:
Checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items.
Prepares cadavers for mortuary by:
By directing and/or assisting with the washing and dressing bodies.
Protects long-term care organization value by:
Keeping information confidential; Cautioning others regarding potential breaches. Adhering to HIPPA and Corporate Compliance policies and procedures
Serves and protects the long-term health care community by:
Adhering to professional standards, long-term health care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements
Improves nursing and long-term health care job knowledge by:
Maintaining licensure; Attending training sessions
