IT Director (Project Management)



The Director of IT works with business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver initiatives that drive excellence in processes and technology. The position works in close collaboration with the company's management to implement/improve business capabilities that achieve business objectives. As leader of the technology team, the position will be involved in setting the strategic direction for business capabilities enabled by technology. This role is also responsible for overseeing IT-driven enhancements, managing system implementations, ensuring cybersecurity and optimizing our technology portfolio to drive operational efficiency and business growth.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
• Lead strategic and operational planning focusing on meeting business needs and requirements.
• Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders from the business and other sources to define business and process requirements for new technology.
• Partner with business leaders to understand existing business processes, gather requirements, evaluate vendors, and execute system implementations.
• Identify and analyze emerging technologies, trends, and opportunities for their potential to disrupt existing capabilities, digital and transformation strategies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integrations and data flow between discrete operational systems and other enterprise applications.
• Monitor system performance and work with IT support teams to resolve issues and optimize functionality.
• Ensure IT projects align with compliance requirements, cybersecurity standards, and best practices.
• Provide training and support to end-users to enhance system adoption and utilization.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
• ERP knowledge of DMSI, and systems  such as Phocas, Max Recall and DQ Technologies that provide enhancements to our existing ERP system such as advanced data analysis, document storage, fleet routing and GPS integration.
• Experience in logistics, wholesale distribution, manufacturing or supply chain (techno-functional)
• 10 + years of program or project management experience implementing software systems.
• Knowledge of project planning tools, such as Microsoft Project.
• Strong organizational skills, capable of managing several projects at once.
• Skilled communicator with experience of bringing together multiple stakeholders to execute on a common mission
• Successful delivery of several business technology platforms.
• Skilled in platform management, product management, architecture, analytics, with excellent interpersonal skills.
