Project Engineer (Architecture)



•Perform initial inspection and measurements for refurbishment, repair, and repurposing projects.
•Develop work scopes and procedures for the above listed project types.
•Develop the necessary model simulations, component designs, assembly prints, and bill of materials for the above listed project types.
•Facilitate document retention for engineering measurements and reports. Engineers will produce high-level engineering reports when necessary.
•Assist in project management type tasks for the above listed project types.
•Provide technical support for aftermarket products to customers and Cooper colleagues.
•Perform all engineering measurements for cylinder and component replacements, re-designs, and reverse engineering. This information is organized and communicated to the Engineering Design team. Measurements of this type are performed in-house or in-field.
•Project engineers will travel on-site for measurement trips, installation support, troubleshooting, or overall engineering representation for Cooper-led projects.
•Project engineer to assist with technical questions from the shop floor and due to proximity of the engineering bay to the shop bay – will assist in providing a necessary engineering presence on the shop floor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: The candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering, or a graduate of a technical school combined with extensive hands-on experience and in-depth technical aptitude. 
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical expertise in cylinder and component replacements, including understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Familiarity with different types of engines and their performance characteristics, as well as experience with tuning and calibrating engines for optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to internal combustion engines and reciprocating compressors. Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment to troubleshoot and repair engine systems. Analytical mindset to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Have knowledge of oilfield, production facilities, and compression operations.
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers.
  • Reciprocating equipment experience in engines and or compressors.
  • Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment.
  • Operated daily with a sense of urgency, ownership, and commitment to team above self.
