Are you ready to help us make the future?
Honeywell Aerospace is a $10B+ SBG (Strategic Business Group) with 40,000 employees in over 125 domestic and international locations. We are a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing, and distributing advanced electronic systems, products, and services to commercial, defense and space industries.
Within Honeywell Aerospace, CNS (Communication, Navigation, Surveillance) is the Center of Excellence (COE) that is responsible for the innovation, development, certification and design maintenance of electronic Aerospace products related to communication, radio navigation and safe aircraft operation. Our vision is to be the premier world-class organization innovating value-added Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance products that delight our customers and ensure safe and efficient flight. Our mission is to rapidly create cost-effective leading-edge products delivering safety, flight efficiency, connectivity, and services to our Aerospace clients and the flying public.
The Navigational Radios - Radar Altimeters is an engineering group with the CNS organization in which this Lead System Engineer role is included - with products spread across both commercial and military domains.
While part of a large company and diverse organization, the NavRadio-Radar Altimeter group operates very much like a small business in many ways. We are fully integrated every aspect of a product's life cycle - from working with a customer on a concept and subsequent proposal, through development, verification, production, and even obsolescence refreshes. Our key contributors are expected to wear multiple "hats" dependent upon the program scope and timeline. With respect to System Engineers (SysEng), our expectation on medium to smaller programs is for the SysEng to operate as both SysEng and Design/Development Engineer - managing both the "system" side and the "design" side that falls under your particular discipline, as an Electrical Engineer (EE) you would be doing the EE work, etc. such as drafting technical presentations or data items and maybe even running a test or two in the lab as required. As a Advance System role, additional expectations are to operate independently, self-learn, provide guidance and oversight to others on team, and expertise advise/recommendations to both engineering and business leadership.
This particular SysEng role has a primary focus on the Military RadAlts family of products that are approaching production, or currently in production in their respective development cycle. Specific focus of this role's work activities will be to usher these products along the process in the production environment and address any issues that arise to minimize impacts to Roll Throughput Yield (RTY). Work will be onsite (Clearwater), hands-on and hardware-centric; working directly with respective products, production equipment and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) personnel.
Primary responsibilities include:
Travel within US and/or internationally may be required - 10%
