IT Project Manager (Project Management)

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the success and day-to-day execution of one or more complex technology projects targeted at achieving an overall business goal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consults with business units and advises in the strategic use of information technology (IT), proposes new applications in cooperation with the business unit staff, and participates in the development/ acquisition and successful implementation/ integration of new applications which are justified and funded by the business unit.
Acts as a liaison between the business unit, IT and vendors, managing scope, ensuring quality, and facilitating communication to keep each informed of events and issues.
Provides direction and leadership for all phases of a project to the team, key customer participants, and management; including assignment of responsibilities, tasks and technical functions.
Manages risks and issues by providing clear and accurate project reporting and forecasting. Consults with appropriate managers and project sponsors regarding changes of significant consequence to the scope or schedule of the project.
Identifies needs and works with management to allocate the best resources to meet timely completion of specific project tasks. Prepares time and cost estimates for completing projects and tasks. Continually monitors project progress to ensure project goals are met in the allotted time and budget.
Consults with personnel of operating companies to analyze current processes, identify problems, and determine system requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer systems or research appropriate third-party solutions.
Builds and maintains good working relationships with all internal and external contacts
Participates in executive and other meetings with customers or staff as appropriate.
Participates in the testing, installation and evaluation of applications projects. Confirms achievement of project goals, coordinates post implementation tasks, and a project retrospective while ensuring proper transition to production support. Ensure compliance with IT procedures.
Required to occasionally travel for project support and training.

Requires knowledge of Lynden companies, business processes and computer systems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably in project management, information technology or equivalent. Three years' experience as a member of a business or IT team responsible for implementation of technology; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents; write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and document process flows. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Possess knowledge and experience across multiple technology platforms and solutions and knowing how to apply them to business needs.
Experience in successfully defining requirements, analyzing and implementing technology projects.
Good judgment and the ability to know when to exercise independent judgment.
Knowledge of ITIL, SDLC, Agile, and other IT best practice methodologies.
Knowledge of Lynden businesses and operations preferred
