The LPN Charge Nurse assesses, plans and implements the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting with the supervision of the Unit Manager. Responsible for medication pass, charting, physician orders, ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care, as well as supervising the care given by CNAs and supportive staff members. The LPN at Homeland is to also maintain a role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility's mission, goals, and objectives associated to high quality care. Supervisory Responsibilities The LPN Charge Nurse is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the care being provided on the unit according to the Resident Care Instructions/Resident Care Plan and overall treatment plan developed for each resident. Also directly supervises 5-7 non-supervisory employees. Supervisory responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees as needed; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recommending rewards and discipline for employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
