Senior Manager Customer Insights - Walmart (Finance)



Members of our marketing team work on all aspects of the brand and its portfolio of products, including consumer insights, advertising, consumer promotion, shopper marketing, new products, sales, operations and finance. As a member of this team, your responsibilities could include leading the development of integrated marketing efforts, leading advertising and packaging development, promotional and website development, creating and executing media strategies and plans, championing new products, advancing consumer insights and brand strategy, and collaborating with sales teams to develop strategic partnerships. The marketing team is an integral part of the organization's overall success. Sr. Manager, Customer Insights - Walmart Position Overview: As a Senior Manager, Customer Insights - Walmart on our Category Leadership Team, you'll play a key role in driving sausage sales by collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and Walmart. You'll provide valuable data insights, analysis, information support, and training. This position focuses on:
  • Category insights, analytics, and strategy for our Walmart business
  • Engagement with our sales and marketing teams and Walmart
  • Sausage category leadership and development
  • Sausage selling capability and tool development
  • Leveraging syndicated data and tools to provide insights that drive sausage revenue and profits

Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with our Sales and Marketing teams and Walmart to:
    • Create and analyze sales and marketing reports using a variety of reporting tools and data sources, including Scintilla and Circana
    • Develop and present customer-specific analyses that explain trends, identify distribution opportunities, communicate price and promotion recommendations, etc.
    • Develop content for and participate in line reviews, category reviews, and 30/60/90 meetings
    • Mine syndicated POS, panel, and Scintilla data to provide insights that drive Johnsonville and category revenue and profits
    • Leverage pricing and assortment insights to identify volume and share opportunities
    • Identify and communicate drivers of base volume
    • Handle ad hoc requests from Johnsonville Walmart Team
    • Opportunity to coach Walmart Category Analyst
  • Build strong collaborative partnerships with cross-functional team members and research partners like Circana, Scintilla, Nuqleous, and others
  • Develop and manage reporting, customization, & utilization of Scintilla, Nuqleous, and Circana for Johnsonville
  • Active participant in Walmart customer meetings

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required

Experience:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in support of Field Sales, Business Development, Category Management, Trade Analytics or Revenue Management, with some time spent on Walmart business, required
  • Syndicated POS and Panel data tool experience (i.e. Circana Unify, Nielsen Nitro/Answers) required
  • Customer POS and loyalty card data experience, including Scintilla, required
  • Familiarity with assortment, pricing, and marketing mix analyses a plus
  • Experience working with data partners on analytic projects a plus
  • Experience in the CPG industry strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to tell a story with data

  • Ability to contribute to strong team environment with positive and constructive input and desire to improve the Category Leadership team and function
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and diverse relationships.
  • Strong desire to learn new skills quickly in a project-oriented environment, with the ability to juggle many projects at one time
  • Desire for continued growth and learning
