Telephonic Critical Support Nurse (RN), Per Diem Accredo - Remote (Finance)



Telephonic Critical Support Nurse (RN):

Remote, Work from home, United States.

Schedule Information:

  • Per Diem employees must commit to work at least twelve hours per week or 48 hours per month on the phone
  • Shifts worked must be as needed and available to help on evenings, weekends, and night shifts when posted
  • Must maintain licensure, competencies, LMS requirements and training as needed
  • Performance must be maintained with call monitoring scores, phone stats, and other measures
  • Days off will vary week-to-week
  • Must be available to work overnight shifts on occasion (1-2 weekdays per month, and 2-4 weekends per year)
  • Evening and overnight shifts include a shift differential

Position Overview:

This busy 24/7 clinical call center receives and responds to a wide variety of incoming calls from patients, clinicians, referral sources, hospitals, etc. in support of chronic therapies, including Home Infusion Therapy. This team also takes after-hour calls for all divisions of Accredo Health Group Specialty Pharmacies.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Triage incoming calls from patients, clinicians, hospitals, etc. Intervene to address life-threatening medication interruptions.
  • Guide patients, caregivers, clinicians through assessment of potential disruption of medication administration including pump malfunction, central line problems, and patient error.
  • Troubleshoot issues with infusion devices, answer infusion access questions, and provide other therapy support.
  • Coordinate communication between patient, caregivers, pharmacists, nurses, hospital staff, and physicians.
  • Ensure product and supplies are provided in a timely manner.
  • Contact appropriate personnel as needed, and document transactions in patients' e-chart.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all services, products, and resources provided by Accredo and continually incorporate new product and service knowledge.
  • Assume an active, professional role in identifying trends/needs as they develop within the scope of customer/client contact.

Education, Licensure

  • Possess an Associate degree in Nursing or Bachelor Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
  • Registered Nurse (RN) multistate license in good standing, with ability to obtain licensure in all 50 states
  • Minimum of 5 years of RN experience preferred. Critical care or home infusion experience preferred.

  • Ability to work the shifts listed above
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory issues
  • Ability to compile data and statistics
  • Strong customer service focus and the ability to counsel patients
  • Able to develop and maintain a cross section of networks
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Must have worked at least two years full-time at the NCSC with good performance records

Accredo, Evernorth Health Services' specialty pharmacy, serves patients with complex and chronic health conditions, including cancer, hepatitis C, HIV, bleeding disorders, and multiple sclerosis.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 32 - 54 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
