Director, Biometrics Solution Specialist (Information Technology)

Position Summary

Eastern USA, Remote

The Director, Biometrics Solution Strategist role will support our strategic pursuits, as a member of the Sales team, by bringing industry and technical depth to our Justice and Public Safety customers and partners, understanding the long term vision of our customers and their needs, and working with our Sales, Solutions, and Product teams to align Thales solutions the customer use-case. 

This role is critical to ensuring we bring the best of Thales capabilities to meet our customer needs and will ensure that we have a large pipeline of strategic deals we are well positioned to win. 

The role will report to our Biometrics Sales Leader and will support all sales objectives across the Biometrics team.  The role will be closely aligned to our PSS Product leadership, being a regional advocate for our PSS strategic business plan with our customers, and act as the voice of our customers to PSS in order to drive a relevant solution roadmap for the NORAM region.

Regulatory Compliance Requirement

Must have U.S. Citizenship in order to obtain the post-hire Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and must be able to obtain post-hire clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S. (CFIUS) and Department of Treasury.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Identify and grow Law Enforcement strategic demand across NORAM region for our PSS portfolio through direct engagement with customers, partners, and industry groups.

  • Develop and pursue strategic captures, one to three years in the future, and ensure that Thales is in the optimal position to win in the law enforcement business.

  • Inform the strategic vision for our PSS and DVS solutions in the NORAM market, helping our Product leaders to advance their solution roadmap in such a way that we maximize our law enforcement growth potential.

  • Inform our Marketing efforts to communicate our PSS and DVS value proposition in the NORAM market, focus investments on events and activities with the highest return, and represent Thales in the appropriate law enforcement industry forums.

  • Support Sales as a law enforcement industry Subject Matter Expert and Thought Leader in customer meetings, pursuit strategies, and other external-facing activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years leadership experience in justice and/ or public safety or related industries, and 10+ years' experience in the field of Biometrics.

  • Recognized as an industry leader within the field of Biometrics with experience in at  least one, major law enforcement agency in the United States.

  • Experience in building an organization from the grounds up for use of biometrics; and capable of leveraging this experience to educate Thales' clients and customers on the do's and don'ts of similar implementation in their agency.

  • Ability to advocate and justify use of biometrics to various internal client stakeholders and respond to various objections of the implementation of the project including privacy.

  • Have vast connections with key personnel at US law enforcement agencies and key decision makers for purchase of the technology.

  • Demonstrated product expertise with detailed knowledge of the competing products in the market with ability to highlight Thales' product shortcomings and influencing the product roadmap to overcome them.

  • Prior experience utilizing influencing skills to navigate across direct, indirect and a matrix organization.

  • Excellent Team player with proven ability to accomplish goals through collaboration.

  • Prior experience presenting to senior leadership as well as internal and external stakeholders.

  • Deep knowledge of justice and public safety use-cases, processes, and technology, including budgeting and decision-making insights.

  • Ability to apply use-case and technical knowledge to customer communications, product leadership and engineering teams.

  • Strong relationship management skills, internally with peer organizations and externally with customer stakeholders.
