Employee Benefits Account Manager - Cypress, TX (Project Management)

Were looking for a client-oriented Employee Benefits Account Manager who willmanage and retain assigned employee benefits accounts, act as the primary contact for clients and be a liaison between them and insurance carriers.You will also educate clients on compliance, manage renewals, and market new benefit products.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

Managing a book of business for clients including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and all other ancillary lines of coverage.Providing proactive and personalized support to assigned clients.Serving as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers or other vendors. Preparing materials for client meetings. Responding to client inquiries and issues, including claims and billing.

Compliance and Education:
Educating clients on compliance topics like ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and Health Care Reform. Developing and delivering communications to employees regarding benefits changes, enrollment, and renewals.

Renewal and New Business:
Managing the renewal process, including preparing contractual changes and communicating final placement details. Marketing and placing new benefit products, including preparing client applications and analyzing carrier quotes.

Other Responsibilities:
Working with the broker to develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities. Conducting on-site meetings to communicate benefit plans.Championing client cross-selling initiatives.Resolving client issues and providing support. Staying current on industry regulations, trends, and technology.

Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge:
Understanding of employee benefits including medical and all ancillary lines of coverage. Knowledge of compliance topics like ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and FMLA. Familiarity with agency management and document management systems.

Skills:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to build and maintain client relationships. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Organizational and time management skills.

Experience:
Ideally 2-5 years' experience working in the employee benefits field, often as an Account Manager or Account Representative. Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional designations (e.g., CEBS, ASP) preferred.

Other:
Valid L&H insurance license, or the ability to obtain one within an agreed time frame. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Benefit Admin Platform (Employee Navigator), and agency CRM system.
