Assistant Professor/Associate Professor - Center for Pediatric Population Health (UTHealth School of Public Health-Dallas); Open Rank/Department (Finance)
Position Key Accountabilities :
Responsibilities will include research, teaching, and community service. The applicant(s) will develop and implement research related to community and clinical health initiatives in pediatric populations, including disease prevention, acute care, chronic illness management, and health risk behaviors during adolescence and the transition to adulthood. The applicant will contribute protocols and outcome metrics to community health and clinical sites, and work collaboratively with UTHealth School of Public Health (SPH) colleagues to submit research proposals for external funding. The successful candidate will provide guidance and mentorship to graduate and post-doctoral students. In addition, the candidate will participate in classroom instruction as agreed upon with the Department Chairs.
The applicant(s) must demonstrate potential as an independent researcher with successful experience developing and implementing research studies, conducting analyses, presenting research findings, and writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. The applicant must also demonstrate practical/applied expertise in pediatric psychology/public health, and the design, implementation, and evaluation of studies related to disease prevention or chronic illness management in pediatric populations.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants must have a Ph.D. or Dr.PH. in public health, epidemiology, economics, sociology, anthropology or a related field; or an M.D. with an accompanying public health graduate degree and 5+ years of research experience in public health or health psychology.
