Position Key Accountabilities:
Successful candidates will have research interests that complement the existing strengths of the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. These include studies of fundamental biological processes in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic model systems, pathogenic mechanisms of bacteria, fungi, and protozoan parasites, and host-pathogen or host-microbiome interactions. Department faculty occupy modern laboratory space, including BSL-3 facilities, and have access to a state-of-the-art vivarium and multiple core resources. Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., postdoctoral experience and will be expected to build a research program that attracts extramural funding and to contribute to graduate and medical education.
Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should have a track record of innovative research at the cutting edge of microbiology and the capability to develop an independently-funded laboratory. Applicants at higher ranks must have an established and extramurally-funded research program. Salary will be commensurate with experience and the University offers a competitive benefits package.
