What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a pragmatic problem solver with a passion for, and experience with, privacy, security, and technology who can work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. As Privacy Counsel and a key member of our privacy team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of Omnissa's privacy program. This role reports to our Deputy General Counsel.

Primary responsibilities include:

-Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our global privacy compliance program

-Own the drafting, maintenance and management of internal policies, processes and procedures, as well as external privacy documentation, including privacy notices

-Partner with engineering, product, security, marketing, HR and other business functions to assess privacy risks and develop practical, creative and scalable solutions to minimize privacy risks while enabling business goals

-Oversee privacy impact assessments (PIAs), transfer impact assessments (TIAs), trustworthy AI assessments, and vendor due diligence

-Lead or support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations

-In coordination with our Cybersecurity Counsel and other appropriate staff, lead the investigation of privacy breaches and other privacy-related violations

-Contribute to privacy training and awareness initiatives across the organization; conduct privacy trainings

-Draft, negotiate, and close privacy and data protection agreements with customers, vendors and partners; continue to develop template and playbook materials for contracting and advise/train members of the legal department on handling privacy-related language in contracts

-Oversee company responses to individual rights requests

-Stay current with applicable and emerging global data privacy and security laws, including CCPA, GDPR, and other U.S. and international privacy laws

-Advise leadership and business stakeholders on risk, trends, and emerging obligations

-Assist with other projects as necessary

What will you bring to Omnissa?

-J.D. or LLM degree from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar

-7+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years focused on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity law

-In-house SaaS or tech company experience strongly preferred

-Strong knowledge of global privacy laws (GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws, HIPAA etc.) and emerging frameworks

-Some experience with artificial intelligence technology and emerging artificial intelligence regulatory regimes in the U.S. and internationally
