Acute Long-Term Care Hospital
An exciting and rewarding opportunity in a professional hospital setting assisting patients transition to inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and home care. Grace Hospital is a not-for-profit registered Acute Long-Term Care Hospital, the first of its kind to be established in Cuyahoga County. We are Medicare and Medicaid certified and fully accredited by the Joint Commission. Grace Hospital utilizes an interdisciplinary care team model to produce optimal clinical outcomes. We seek care-givers who are compassionate, competent, and results-oriented to join our team. We currently have one location - Grace Parma.
We are looking for a PRN Speech Therapist starting in late August.
Evaluates and identifies patients with communication and swaIIowing disorders. Provides treatment to maximize patients' communication abilities.
- Recommends and develops new services and programs.
- Presents inservice programs to nursing and clinical care staff as requested or as need arises.
- Evaluates assigned clients and determine causal factors for speech-language and hearing impairments.
- Gathers data related to Client's communication disorder, select appropriate evaluation tools for the purpose of assessment.
- Administers diagnostic testing procedures to determine the extent of the Client's impairment and the prognosis for improvement.
- Instructs and supervises student interns.
- Assists with patient transfers/patient care, as needed.
Sits, stands, bends, lifts up to 100 pounds and moves intermittently during working hours. May be subjected to infectious diseases, substances, contaminated articles, etc., including the potential exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. May be subject to hostile and emotional upset patients, family members, visitors., etc.
Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Experience: One - two years preferred.
Other: Licensed as a speech-language pathologist in the State of Ohio; CPR certification.
