Environmental Field Technician (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an entry level Environmental Technician at our Casper, Wyoming location. Typical activities will include surface and groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil sampling, soil remediation oversight, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, permit compliance, and subcontractor oversight. The ideal candidate will have environmental site monitoring experience and an aptitude for mechanical and electrical problem solving, and a strong ability to communicate effectively with project teams both verbally and through written field work documentation. While experience with the aforementioned items is preferred, proficiency in this role's responsibilities can be learned on the job through training with experienced staff.

The majority of the work carried out by the person in this position will be in day-trip distance of Casper, Wyoming. Occasional travel within the region or nationally to respond to the needs of Arcadis' clients will be required.

This Environmental Technician position will sit within the larger Global Resilience Business Area. The successful candidate must live in, or be willing to, relocate to the area of Casper, Wyoming.

Role accountabilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Groundwater, soil, and vapor sampling
  • Implementation of various field activities including permit compliance sampling and activities monitoring well development and repair, waste management, etc.
  • Remediation system operation, maintenance, and monitoring
  • Site Inspections
  • Permit compliance
  • Oversight of subcontractors

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a High School Diploma or its equivalent and capability to pass a background check necessary for eRail Safe and TWIC clearance. They should be able to read, understand, and execute scopes of work independently, showcasing a strong sense of mechanical aptitude. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds is necessary. Additionally, a valid Driver's License is essential, alongside a proven ability to work independently.

While not mandatory, candidates with over a year of environmental field experience will be preferred. An Associate's degree or a Trade School Certificate/Diploma is also advantageous.

Experience in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems will set candidates apart, as will the completion of ARC Flash NFPA 70 Training and Confined Space Entry training. Those with DOT HazMat Shipping training and 30 Hour Construction Safety training will be preferred.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $42,948-64,421.00. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
