Accredo - Per Diem Staff Fulfillment Pharmacist - Norcross, GA (Finance)

This is an opportunity to work for a leader in specialty pharmacy in a fast-paced environment.

Accredo, the specialty pharmacy division of Evernorth Health Services, is looking for a per diem staff pharmacist to join their Norcross, GA location in the Peachtree Corners area.

Up to 16-hours per week Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:00 am- 6:30 pm ET including a 1-week On-Call rotation required every 3-4 weeks that includes weeknights, weekends, and Holidays

As a Fulfillment Staff Pharmacist at Accredo Specialty Pharmacy , you will be responsible for interpreting physician's prescriptions, reconstituting and dispensing medications within corporate and regulatory guidelines. In addition, maintain daily production, quality and service levels, vary work priorities and activities to accommodate business needs. The Staff Pharmacist may also train less experienced pharmacists and technicians.

What you will do:

  • Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians. Interpret physicians' or prescribers' prescriptions.
  • Interpreting, processing, and dispensing prescriptions
  • Work with a centralized team to contact doctors and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions such as drug strength, prescription sig., and drug name in order to expedite processing of orders.
  • Managing DME and inventory
  • Verify and confirm validity of controlled substances.
  • Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
  • Reach out to centralized team to contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
  • Collaborate with centralized pharmacists to contact physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible.
  • Help with front end pharmacists to contact patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions.
  • Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management, or train less experienced pharmacists.

What you will need to do the job:

  • Graduate of ACPE Accreditation School of Pharmacy with a B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D, degree
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Current resident pharmacist license in good standing
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
