Full-Time NOC RN (Healthcare)



Starting Wage $50 + Experience plus $7 NOC differential for Full Time

Administrative Functions

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in daily nursing operations in accordance with current rules and guidelines.
  • Help develop and maintain written policies and procedures for nursing services.
  • Ensure reference materials at nurses' stations are up to date.
  • Recommend resources to support day-to-day resident care.
  • Keep the Nursing Service Procedures Manual current and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and present oral and written reports as necessary.
  • Periodically review departmental policies and recommend updates.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Support quality assurance programs and participate in facility inspections.
  • Review and update residents' discharge plans as needed.
Committee Functions
  • Attend facility committee meetings (e.g., Infection Control, Pharmaceutical, QA).
  • Assist in preparing reports for committee use.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and discharge reviews.
Personnel Functions
  • Ensure adequate staffing of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Develop work assignments and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
  • Monitor staff compliance with job descriptions.
  • Make rounds to ensure quality care and staff performance.
  • Monitor and report absenteeism and disciplinary issues.
  • Support staff performance evaluations and professional development.
Nursing Care Functions
  • Prepare for new admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Conduct physician rounds and encourage timely documentation.
  • Communicate resident status changes to physicians and families.
  • Provide direct nursing care and supervise others in care delivery.
  • Monitor medication administration and treatment schedules.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of medication records and care documentation.
  • Maintain clean and safe care environments.
Staff Development
  • Develop and implement in-service training for nursing staff.
  • Collaborate on annual training programs and clinical supervision for trainees.
  • Attend continuing education to maintain current professional status.
Safety and Sanitation
  • Support development of safety standards and infection control programs.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of PPE.
  • Promote hand hygiene, safety practices, and participation in drills.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary nursing areas and resident care environments.
Equipment and Supply Functions
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory and equipment condition.
  • Ensure proper operation and efficient use of nursing supplies and devices.
Care Plan and Assessment Functions
  • Participate in resident assessments and care planning.
  • Encourage resident involvement in their care planning.
  • Ensure adherence to care plans by all personnel.
Budget and Planning Functions
  • Monitor economic trends and suggest adjustments to services.
  • Report suspected fraud or billing discrepancies.
Supervisory Requirements
  • Assist in supervising and managing nursing staff.
  • Possess authority and responsibility for assigned administrative duties.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 2 years of experience, preferably in long-term care.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.

Language Skills
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and technical documents.

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to apply ratios, fractions, and percentages in practice.

Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals and under emotional stress.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Certificates and Licenses
  • Active, unencumbered RN license in this state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of PCC preferred.
  • Compliance with continuing education and licensure requirements.

Physical Demands

  • Mobility throughout the workday.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and assist in resident evacuation.
  • Ability to manage stress and interact with diverse resident needs.
Work Environment
  • May work in various facility areas including resident rooms and offices.
  • Subject to interruptions and emotionally charged situations.
  • May require weekend, holiday, or emergency duty.
  • Potential exposure to infections, hazardous chemicals, and equipment hazards.
