Job Objective: Provides technical guidance and expertise in regard to accounting charges, policies and procedures that impact the Company and all accounting/finance areas. Supports and advises the Company in accounting changes and coordinates audit testing and controls work with the external auditors. Essential Job Responsibilities:
Leads the research and implementation of recent accounting pronouncements and new FASB Accounting Standards Codifications.
Documents the accounting impacts, changes and related accounting policies to the Company and coordinates sign-off with the external auditors.
Coordinates the control policy and procedure updates as well as assists in new policies with the appropriate accounting groups.
Coordinates the testing of internal controls throughout the year and provides appropriate GAAP guidance to the company
Coordinates the walkthroughs of the control policies with appropriate Hilcorp contacts and with the external auditors.
Coordinates the audit testing amongst the accounting department and ensures testing is complete and accurate. Coordinates and provides all testing to the external auditors.
Provides accounting research/guidance to all areas of the Company, as needed.

Qualifications:
Three (3) years minimum financial reporting or public accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Ability to research and form appropriate/applicable conclusions.
Ability to solve problems accurately and develop solutions to various accounting issues.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner.
Outstanding management, administrative, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in accounting.
