Controller (Lane Supply Inc.) (Finance)



The Opportunity:

The Controller will provide leadership and coordination in financial planning and budget management functions and ensure that accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles and/or international financial reporting standards. As a financial leader for a custom engineered projects, design, manufacturing & installation business, strong focus on understanding cost, construction projects, estimation and control is a critical responsibility. Engagement and coordination with the broader Lane Supply team on process with standardized common practice alignment will be a key part of this role.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and coordinate financial reporting & operational metrics in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and/or international financial reporting standards.
  • Support short- and long-range financial forecasting for budgeting and planning in coordination with FP&A.
  • Provide analysis on the Business' financial results to optimize profitability and divisional performance. Proactively tackle P&L issues that arise across the business and champion resolution collaboratively with the team.
  • Ensure that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including: data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, and adherence to corporate policies (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)
  • Core accounting and financial processes/functions include: Revenue Recognition, COGS, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accruals, GL, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting.
  • Ownership/Coordination of cost accounting activities for manufacturing including standards, variance analysis, inventory analysis and the annual physical inventory.
  • Ensure the closing process is completed timely and accurately, prepare variance analysis to budget and forecast, along with creation of appropriate consolidated income statements, balance sheets and robust supporting reconciliations.
  • Drive harmonization of accounting practices across the organization (e.g. account reconciliations, internal control, business analysis, general ledger transactions, etc.) with detailed work instructions and documentation.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture, developing and improving efficient and scalable processes and using best practices that tie into the overall company operational structure.
  • Leads / supports actions to achieve the Business' profitability and business plans.
  • Main partner for both internal and external audit. Drive audit accountability and reporting with a focus on meeting deadlines with a work product that meets the need and provides the assurance that controls are functioning as designed.
  • Work as required with other areas to provide financial insight, guidance and financial education on different matters to support decision making and planning (e.g. make-buy analyses, cost reduction initiatives, etc.)
  • Coordinate business modeling and analysis with the FP&A function to more deeply understand and communicate business performance. Create and deliver tools to provide Finance Acumen to key business leaders.
  • Provide leadership & coaching to create and sustain a high-performance culture, plus develop staff to support succession planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Need:
  • Master's Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Related
  • 10 Years of Experience in Financial Management
  • 10 Years of experience in a publicly held company including multi-company, multi-facility, and multi-state environments
  • CPA/CMA preferred
  • Strong Change Management Skills
    • Developing & Influencing Others
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar environment preferred.
