Counsel (Personal Services)



The Counsel is responsible for assisting in the overall management of Safe Harbors legal department. This position plays a key role in optimizing the efficiency and coordination of legal matters for Safe Harbor. This position reports to the Chief Transaction Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in management, policy, and business deliberations and clearly communicate how legal issues will affect business operations and recommend strategies to manage legal risk
Create programs to and manage (a) lease compliance, renewals and extensions, (b) operational permits and licenses, and (c) capital expenditure contract management
Provide legal and business input on all aspects of day-to-day operations of the real estate asset portfolio, including but not limited to managing the various HOAs that the Company is a participant in
Draft, review, and negotiate documents
Monitor compliance with internal Safe Harbor business and legal processes and policies
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM safety and environmental rules and complete required related training
Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area
Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements
JD with a license to practice law in the State of Texas
3+ years of experience and demonstrated competency in lawexperience in commercial leasing or willingness to learn
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
