Position Summary:
- Must be familiar with company policies and procedures related to billing, month end activities, accounts receivables, census, ancillaries and adjustment postings.
- He/she interfaces with Dir. of Billing, Administrators, Office Managers, Admissions, Accounting as well as other facility department heads.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate and assist with month end billing process and related activities
- Per the direction of the Director of Billing, acts as a liaison to contracted insurance companies and other payment vendors
- Aids facility credentialing for various payers and/or vendors
- Key contact to resolve eligibility concerns or Coordination of Benefit issues related to patient primary payer source
- Responsible for obtaining all pertinent information for coordination of out-of-network benefits for inpatient or outpatient services
- Identify non-payment trends or procedural roadblocks and report to Supervisor as needed
- Keep current on all billing updates regarding Managed Care & Advantage Plans
- Reviews Managed Care claims appeals and discussed with the appropriate facility case managers
- Oversee and accurately audit Month End Close documents
