The Solutions Engineering team is an integral part of HPE Global Manufacturing and Fulfillment and is chartered to offer Factory Express manufacturing services that enable global customer's complex CTO solutions and ensure clean execution in our global factories.

The primary role of the Factory Express Portfolio Manager is to create and maintain our portfolio of market relevant manufacturing services to ensure smooth Quote to Order and global factory execution.

In a typical day as the Factory Express Portfolio Manager, you might...

  • Drive competitive advantage by continuously assessing market requirements and develop / introduce new Factory Express services. Establish and oversee governance for new business unit requests for manufacturing services.
  • Work with NPI to re-purpose or create new part numbers, structure BOMs, load cost and price, extend parts to SAP plants, conduction regional NPI, create internal and external marketing documentation, perform MVB, and declare CTR.
  • Advise business units on product lifecycle management, requirements for launching new platforms that support Complex CTO (BOM structuring and OCA setup), and ensuring Factory Express services are verified through MVB before product CTR.
  • Be subject manager expert on and manage the existing portfolio of Factory Express customization services including cost and price management.
  • Counsel presales on appropriate Factory Express services to include in deals to meet customer expectations and simplify execution for factories
  • Manage relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures partner business functions are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
  • Engage with functional teams across sales, customer operations, a regional supply chain leaders, outsourced factories, and services to align on strategies, guide / influence decisions, communicate status of new services, manage expectations, and escalate issues.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous process / tool improvement and cost reduction / efficiency opportunities. Lead project implementation.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering: Computer Science, Industrial, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing technologies are preferred.
  • Project management skills including leadership, influencing, prioritization, time and risk management, and project structuring. Must be able to lead multiple concurrent projects. PMP/PMI certification preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced communication skills catering to a wide breadth of audiences and styles (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.
  • Some technical knowledge of servers, storage, and networks.
  • Advanced relationship management skills including partnering management and consulting.
  • Typically 8-10 years-experience in a manufacturing / engineering environment.
