Documentation Lead (Construction)



The Documentation Lead will support the development, management, and quality assurance of all documentation supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General (VA OIG) Enterprise Architecture (EA) Modernization initiative. This role ensures program deliverables, governance artifacts, technical manuals, and user-facing materials are accurate, accessible, and aligned with federal standards. The Documentation Lead will collaborate with program managers, architects, and training specialists to ensure consistent messaging and effective knowledge transfer across the modernization effort.

This is a TEMPORARY (6 months) full-time position in the Washington, DC area and onsite work will be necessary.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the documentation strategy and lifecycle for enterprise architecture modernization deliverables.Lead the creation, editing, and maintenance of program documentation, including process guides, training materials, user guides, governance policies, and communication materials. Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, and version control processes to ensure consistency and compliance. Collaborate with SMEs, architects, and program staff to translate complex information into clear, concise, and accessible documents. Ensure compliance with federal requirements for records management, plain language, information security, and Section 508 accessibility. Oversee documentation reviews and quality assurance checks before delivery. Maintain centralized repositories and ensure controlled distribution of documentation to stakeholders. Support knowledge management and information-sharing initiatives to enhance adoption of EA modernization efforts.
