About the Role 

Essity is looking for an experienced Sustainability Manager who will drive sustainability activities. The position will act as lead facilitator in key sustainability activities and the main point of contact for sustainability topics within the North America market BU organization. The position will lead and coordinate the implementation and compliance with product sustainability certifications and regulatory requirements. It will also prepare and deploy sustainability training, while developing the sustainability competence within the North America market.

 

The ideal candidate should/could live in Philadelphia, PA.

What You Will Do 

  • Lead implementation of agreed marketing sustainability plans and activities in the local market's organization, aligned and coordinated with global marketing and business unit sustainability activities
  • Coordinate implementation and maintenance of product sustainability certifications on the local market incl. securing alignment with any global certifications (e.g. FSC)
  • Coordinate compliance with legal & regulatory sustainability requirements for the local market from a product perspective
  • Coordinate development and maintenance of product sustainability claims and communication for the local market, in collaboration with marketing teams
  • Support customer engagement around product sustainability aspects, interacting with customer marketing for the region
  • Lead sustainability training and competence development for the product organization, with focus on local activities, e.g. training for dedicated countries, specific certifications
  • Support transatlantic and transversal sustainability activities based on needs.

 

Who You Are 

  • University degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years' experience in a sustainability role, preferably from a product perspective
  • Experience in working with sustainability certifications and/or sustainability regulations
  • Preferred: Experience in sustainability and environmental assessments such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Greenhouse gas protocol.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills; ideally, experience working in a Matrix Organization
  • Analytical skills

Expected Compensation 

Competitive annual salary + annual incentive bonus/sales incentive + benefits 

 

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors such as knowledge, skills, and experience.
