ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR-SKILLED CARE (Finance)
Hours: Day Shift
Work Schedule requires availability every other weekend
An employee in this position provides individual and group activities targeted toward residents in a Skilled Care setting. He/she regularly interviews and/or assesses residents to determine their recreational, social and therapeutic needs. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for organizing and implementing programs and events beneficial to those suffering with various physical and psycho-social needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create, design, and implement activities and events related to persons with various physical limitations, illnesses, and disabilities.
Responsible for timely completion of associated charting and documentation related to the provision of activities to associated groups..
Assist with transport of residents to the activity areas.
Complete documentation of resident behaviors which may indicate medical problems.
Interact appropriately and effectively in one to one activities according to the resident's strengths and limitations.
Be aware of individual cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial impairments. Keep records of sensory stimulation or other type of activity and resident's response.
Transport and chaperone scheduled activities away from the facility grounds.
Must maintain a pleasant, upbeat, engaging, and cheerful nursing home environment.
Assist residents to communicate with family and friends via numerous forms such as Telephone, Zoom, Window Visits, etc.
Assist with creating and disseminating monthly newsletter and monthly calendars.
Instructs residents in relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, concentration, and other activities, to reduce stress, aggression, and tension.
Organizes, coordinates, and transports residents to special outings and accompanies them on outings such as ball games, sightseeing,
