We are currently looking for a Flavorist, to join our Flavor Development Management Team in Richmond, VA. What you will be doing:
Collaborating with flavorists to analyze and understand the sensory characteristics of flavor ingredients, compounded flavors, processing aids, and reformulated products.
Supporting sensory maintenance of Core Tobacco Products and contribute to the development of innovative flavor systems for Reduced Harm Products.
Implementing quality solutions to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce complexity, and optimize costs related to flavor materials.
Identifying opportunities to innovate, enhance, and simplify procedures and processes for improved efficiency.
Creating, implementing, and maintain Quality Systems procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Documenting flavor systems, product, and process changes to meet Quality Systems, Records Management, and Product Integrity standards.
Collaborating with Product Stewards and Flavorists to understand sensory characteristics of tobacco grades and ensure alignment with regulatory and product requirements for new platforms.
What we want you to have:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Biology, Food Science, or related field.
Basic knowledge of Analytical Instrumentation (GCMS, LC, FlashPoint, Refractometer, etc.)
Ability to taste, smell and distinguish flavor ingredients
General knowledge of flavor ingredients, process aids, and flavor application equipment and technologies.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work and communicate well with diverse and cross-functional teams
User of nicotine products is preferred.
Participation in product evaluation is preferred to support Flavor Development initiatives
Two plus years of experience in tobacco, food, flavor, or related industry preferred.
The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $78,600.00 - $115,200.00. We deliver a market-competitive, equitable pay with a Total Reward program that includes:
