Education Abroad Recruiter Advisor (Finance)



The Recruiter Advisor position, reporting to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Recruitment for Education Abroad within the Global Learning Office, plays a key role in advancing study abroad recruitment strategies and goals. The role involves managing and executing recruitment efforts for programs within an assigned portfolio with the goal of converting leads to applications. Additionally, the employee represents the university and the Global Learning Office effectively at various recruitment events. This position may work with recent high school graduates, transfers from community colleges, or students entering specialized graduate programs, such as physical therapy, biomedical sciences, business, engineering, etc. Incumbents assigned to this position could also work with the graduation application and certification processes. This position may also work with individuals with disabilities to assist them through special processes, or with International students to assist them with immigration documents, admissions, and assignment to special advisors. The Enrollment Management Specialist performs a variety of administrative support functions that require knowledge of admissions/registration processes, and the ability to develop positive interactions with students, prospective students, and their parents. This position is more complex than the lower level Enrollment Management Assistant in that this position has much more interaction with the students and parents to provide in-depth information about enrollment procedures. The Assistant level is focused more on data entry and the processing of documents, as well as initial customer service. This Specialist position can be distinguished from the higher level Admissions Recruiter/Advisor in that external student recruitment is not a regular function of this position. The Specialist position is not regularly and customarily required to represent the university at high schools, community colleges, and other large venues within and outside the State of Florida.This position requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate related field of study; or a High School diploma with a minimum of three years of directly related experience. In a specialized academic area, this position may require or prefer a degree in that field of study. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.The University of South Florida is a high-impact global research university dedicated to student success.   • Meets with counselors, parents and prospective students. Provides frontline information and advice regarding admission and application requirements. Provides information by telephone, correspondence, in person, and e-mail, one-on-one and in groups.
  • Processes, maintains, and ensures the accuracy of records and files on assigned applications received from new, transferring, or returning former students seeking admission to degreed programs. Contacts students for additional information.
  • Resolves problems encountered in evaluating materials and considers various criteria in determining status of applications. Refers complex cases to supervisor.
  • Updates information pertaining to students' recruitment, application and admissions processes and status using university systems (e.g., Banner/OASIS, BXS Banner imaging system, MD Banner, Recruitment PLUS, and web reporting system, etc.). Monitors enrollment trends and prepares reports based on admissions tendencies.
  • Participates in the on-campus USF visitation program by giving informational presentations, leading campus tours, and assisting with recruitment and yield events (i.e. open houses, Fantastic Friday, Transfer Day, etc.).
  • Researches and resolves student problems with registration, payments and admission inquiries into specific level programs, and/or graduation application or certification processes.
  • Registers drop/add classes for students and processes various types of applications; resolves admission holds that prevent current students from registering for classes.
  • Guides students through various petition processes regarding dismissals, late drops, grade forgiveness, fee adjustments, etc.
  • Ensures progressive enrollment and retention numbers for college programs through consistent communication and individualized guidance for admitted candidates until full program matriculation.
  • May manage special scholarship applications and tuition waivers, and corresponding with students on these processes.
  • Reviews and verifies academic records for degree statements and certification statements; oversees graduation certification on-line.
  • Provides on-line registration support as needed.
  • Performs other related admissions or registration duties as needed or requested.
