What is your impact?

Are you ready to lead complex engineering efforts that power the future of renewable energy? As the Lead Secondary Engineer – Subject Matter Expert, you will play a critical role in project and tender engineering for high-voltage (HV) substations within Linxon's EPC framework. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, this leadership role focuses on managing technical interfaces, defining scopes of work, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements, legislative standards, and industry best practices. Your expertise will directly impact the successful execution of projects—on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What will you do?

  • Lead the design and coordination of secondary systems for HV substations, including protection, control, and communication systems.

  • Define and manage the scope of work for secondary engineering across project and tender phases.

  • Ensure alignment with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.

  • Oversee technical interfaces between engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction teams.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support project planning, cost estimation, and risk assessment activities.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Who you are?

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in secondary engineering for HV substations, preferably within an EPC environment.

  • Strong knowledge of protection and control systems, SCADA, and relevant communication protocols.

  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, and other substation design software.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical scopes and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in renewable energy or utility-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
