LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2009 with an unwavering focus on "To and Through College" at every grade level. Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum. POSITION OVERVIEW
The High School CTE Business Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based business education instruction, including entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, business law, and digital applications. The teacher will prepare students for college and career readiness by integrating real-world skills, industry certifications, and project-based learning.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties

Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state CTE standards and industry expectations.

Teach courses such as Introduction to Business, Marketing, Accounting, Business Law, and Entrepreneurship.

Integrate technology and business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Google Workspace) into instruction.

Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications (e.g., Microsoft Office Specialist, QuickBooks Certified User).

Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and professionalism.

Collaborate with local businesses and community partners to provide students with work-based learning opportunities.

Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades.

Participate in professional development and stay current with trends in business and education.

Serve as an advisor for student organizations such as FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) or DECA.

Support school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive school culture.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

Valid [State] teaching certification in Business or CTE.

Industry experience in business or related fields is highly desirable.

Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Ability to engage diverse learners and differentiate instruction.


Work Schedule
This position operates on a 10-month schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar.

Work Environment

Position will have periods of extended work week hours, which are required to support both the ongoing development of the region and the delivery of high-quality education for all students.
