HERFF JONES, Data Analyst /Business Intelligence Analyst - Warwick, RI

Your Opportunity:

The Herff Jones Jewelry team is looking for a Data Analyst /Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team.

Here's How You'll Make an Impact:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Data Analyst /Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the creation, management, and training of our reporting systems. This role will be extracting and managing data metrics for the business, while also building out and structuring core business files in a digital cloud setting. In this role, you will be working with various departments to ensure the data is correct. It will take a strong focus on owning the data management for all operations of the business, as well as tracking and reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules of the business's metrics. A balance of priorities will be key to operating successfully in the role.

What We Want You to Accomplish:

First 90 Days:

  • Learn the core processes for the business as well as the manufacturing organization (high level overview).
  • Learn and take over daily reporting of metrics and the reporting of this across multiple teams.
  • Learn to extract and analyze data from our multiple data management programs.

First 180 days:

  • Partner with senior leaders in the business to build a balanced scorecard and compile / organize the necessary data to support it.
  • Serve as the primary points of contact for all business data request.
  • Act in a supporting role with the respective staff to ensure quality data is being passed along to the business.
  • Understand and be able to properly work through our business systems as well as with our contractors and DBA's to pull the correct data.

First 365 Days:

  • Manage all data requests and serve as a SME for our data management system(s).
  • Understand and be able to properly develop reporting of business data, manage all data systems, and can utilize all of them into a seamless report out for business units.

What You'll Be Doing on A Daily Basis:

  • Working with the business to extract and analyze data, they will use for their daily jobs.
  • Update our data dashboards and files.
  • Manage orders coming in from outside customer.
  • Manage the data tables to ensure correct information is being presented to the business.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Proven success to effectively communicate (listening, writing and verbal) across all levels of an organization.
  • Previous experience with systems such as POWER BI, WRIKE, ORACLE, Google Docs, Microsoft Forms, Sharepoint, Power Automate, Pangea/Pipline, Five9, and/or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • ADVANCED skills with Microsoft Office and learning new systems/technology with understanding some work is processed manually.
  • Demonstrated success in data file management and ability to make complicated data from multiple sources into a clear and concise report.
  • Excel (pivot tables/advanced formulas).
  • Experience in DAX, M-Language, and preferably SQL
  • Ability to form relationships with department personnel to build and train in the use of reporting tools
  • Building out of File Structure.
  • Knowledge of formatting data for dashboards.
  • Travel to/from work locations across Central IL (50% or more of time) and to Indianapolis Corporate Office (less than 10% of time).

  • Ability to type and click/move computer mouse.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above moderate.
  • Ability to work in an environment with repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, and elbows.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions.
