Material Scheduling Manager (Finance)

The Material Scheduling Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the flow of materials to meet production requirements and customer demand. This role ensures that materials are available at the right time, in the right quantity, and at optimal cost. The manager leads a team of schedulers and works closely with Procurement, Production, Engineering, and Inventory Control to support efficient operations and on-time delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage material schedules based on production plans, inventory levels, and supplier lead times.
  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve supply issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust material plans to avoid shortages or excess.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for material availability issues affecting production.
  • Maintain accurate material requirements in ERP/MRP systems and ensure alignment with production needs.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes by planning required materials accordingly.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the material scheduling team.
  • Develop KPIs and reports to track schedule adherence, material availability, and inventory turns.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
  • Prefer at least 5 years of experience in material planning, scheduling, or supply chain management.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (experience with Ramco, SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management principles
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency in using material planning software and tool
