Division/Department/Program: Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD)Residential Program
The Developmental Disabilities Residential Program Manager manages operations, supervises Residential Site Supervisors and monitors resident activities in Community Living Arrangements (CLA) for adults diagnosed with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities in Gwinnett, Rockdale, and Newton Counties. Provides technical assistance and support to the operations, staff and programming for DD Residential Services at View Point Health. Additionally provides agency support for the Scheduler function at View Point Health. Provide staff training as needed. Authorize CLA purchases and monitor budgets for each CLA home. Ensure the utilization of Person-Centered Practices throughout all DD Services Conducts staff meetings at least monthly. Complete Standard Operating Procedures based on View Point Health policy for Residential processes. Maintain current Residential Manuals based on changes by Regulatory agents.
The job requires flexibility in working hours/days and locations (Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton) in order to assure shift coverage.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Contributes to View Point Healths mission, vision, and program philosophies by way of work product and professional behavior with both internal and external consumersAdheres to licensure requirements and regulations as set forth by regulatory agenciesParticipates actively in agency quality assurance activities including performance and outcomes review, case record review, stakeholder satisfaction review, incident review, and improvement planning. (DDP role)Demonstrates an awareness, appreciation and respect for diverse cultures and individual differences between clients and fellow employees.Adheres to all current federal & state laws, as well as View Point Healths Policies and Procedures, including the safeguarding of confidential healthcare information and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).Ensures that all Residential Licensing and Contract Standards, other standards and View Point Healths policies and procedures are implemented.Reports immediately any suspected incidents of abuse or neglect to his/her immediate supervisor and the Corporate Compliance Office.Establishes relationships and communicates with residents, support workers, family members, and staff. Identifies and seeks resolution for potential problems arising with staff or other involved parties. Attending staff / agency meetings. Attends trainings, conferences, workshops, seminars as needed to remain current with DD practices
Program Specific:
Reports to the Assistant Director of Developmental Disability Services regarding support services, personnel and fiscal issues, etc.Assists the Assistant Director of Developmental Disability Services in short and long-term planning for the program. Responds to emergency and crisis situations. Assists with ensuring program policies and procedures are up to date and available for staff review.
Facility Safety:
Complete and documents facility inspections and generate work orders for repairs when necessary. Prepares for any off-site travel activities (i.e. needed items, menus/food, etc.).
Staff:
Provides leadership and direction to supervisors and direct care professionals. Acts as a role-model and mentor. Listens to staff concerns and works with them to resolve.Assists with staff recruitment and hiring. Facilitates orientation and initial training of new staff. Provides ongoing training through on-the-job training and curriculum-based training. Oversees work schedules for staff to ensure adequate supervision of residents. Assists in the review of staff time sheets and vacation requests. Assists with completing staff performance evaluations, employee corrective actions, and performance plans.
Residents:
Participates in intake staffing. Develops Recreation Calendar as applicable for the program. Reviews and approves Incident Reports and provides feedback to staff when necessary.Attends program activities held off site as necessary. Assists with community service projects.Intervenes in crisis situations involving residents when necessary.Arrange transportation for residents as necessaryAttends court hearings when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Note: Some positions require eligibility for licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) plus years of strong administrative and organizational skills.Supervisory or lead worker experience in a group home or similar settingExperience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities.Proficient use of Microsoft Application (Excel, Powerpoint)
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.Requires long periods of sitting/standing.Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
