Electrical Product Design Engineer (Finance)

Position Summary: Plays a lead role in the development of smart sensor technologies. Position Requirements: Independently designs, develops, and tests electrical systems with embedded hardware designs for automotive and industrial sensor applications, includes embedded software, creating schematics and PCB layouts. Develop embedded firmware and software in C for microcontrollers, includes bootloaders, device drivers, and application code. Performs circuit analysis and circuit simulations to model and analyze proper circuit behavior and system performance, including signal conditioning and data acquisition. Integrate and debug firmware and software on target embedded hardware, ensuring proper interaction between hardware components and software modules. Researches, evaluates and selects appropriate electrical components and materials based on performance, cost and reliability requirements. Builds and tests prototypes to validate designs and ensure they meet customer and internal specifications, which includes developing test plans, procedures and documenting results. Identifies and resolves complex electrical and software issues in existing designs or during the development process of new sensor designs. Identify, track and resolve open issues both internally and externally with customers. Effectively collaborates with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and embedded systems into the overall sensor design. Works with customers in defining new product design and development, generating proposals, developing project plans, and validation specifications. Creates and maintains engineering documents such as bills of material, FMEA's, process flows, procedures, and other types of engineering documentation. Identifies, tracks, and resolves open issues (internal and customer driven) for products under development. Develops component drawings to provide suppliers and manufacturing with the documents needed to build prototypes and production release products. Maintain compliance to customer specific requirements as applicable. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Professional/Technical Experience, Skills and Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science, required. Four (4) or more years of professional experience related to design, development and testing embedded systems, required. Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Cadence OrCAD schematic and PCB Editor preferred), required. Analog and digital circuit design principles relevant to embedded systems, required. Knowledgeable with laboratory tools such as power supplies, digital multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, and function generators, required. Embedded C programming with experience in digital communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and SENT, required. Knowledgeable with debugging tools, emulators and logic analyzers, required. Proficient in Microsoft Office apps to analyze data and prepare reports and presentations, required. Familiarity with ASPICE process reference model, preferred. Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, preferred. Familiarity with automotive electrical requirements and standards, such as SAE, ISO, and CISPR, preferred.
